In the aftermath of Hurricane IAN, BEI provided Emergency Structural Assessment and Disaster Recovery engineering services for Moss Marine – one of the largest commercial marinas in Fort Myers Beach. Four Boat Barns, a Ships Store, four Floating Dock Piers, and 700 linear feet of Seawall were destroyed or damaged when this historic Category 4 hurricane brought 150-mph winds and up to 16+ feet of storm surge through the marina.

BEI was on-site within just a few days after the storm, and strategic Disaster Recovery engineering support allowed Moss Marine to be the first marinas to re-open in the area providing needed dock and marine services for the U.S. Coast Guard for their post-hurricane search and rescue operations.
